When I turn steering either way there is a squeeking type of noise. Plenty of oil in unit. Any ideas. Do those conditioning additives work would it sort it out or is it more serious. Thanks Jeff

Belt slipping, tensioner seized?

When you say hard lock, do you mean against lock stops? DO NOT hold steering hard against lock stops for more than a few seconds.

check your fluid level, and don't hold it on full lock:)

Well not on hard lock just when I have to get in and out of my driveway in about 10 moves because people park right up to the edges and more. Actually more of a rubbing sound than a squeek. Fluid level all ok.

Have you got silly tyres on catching wheel well?
