That's wicked, I bet the guy you gave it to repainted his car so that it matched the trailer
I notice there is hardly clearance between the wheel/wheel box. Is that just the load, or did you streamline it abit ? If so did it cause any problems ?

Don't know about the repainting, the guy was from the Salvation Army helping alcoholics and i figured that i might have need of services like that one day so had no problem passing it on.
As for the load at that point it was heavily overloaded to the point that the springs were flat, what i did was jack the trailer up to the desired height and measured the length of shock that i needed and fitted 2 motorbike monoshocks with 300kilo springs effectively giving me an extra 600 kilo capacity.
This is about the only photo i have so show but i think it explains it okay.

Gareth I preume you have read the lonewolftransglobal stuff, they had some trailer type issues mainly relating to the axle I think..

yes, I wanted to DL some photo's 1st, but seeing as you asked I will write some initial thoughts 1st.
basically, the trailer surpassed all expectations! not once did it prove a hindrance. We crossed some very technical and tight terrain which the trailer rolled over effortlessly.
We drove technical rock sections on Happy Valley, deep mud/ruts/water holes near Hay on Wye, plenty of fords inc Strata and then tight washout switchbacks in Brechfa forest. I think knowing the lanes and what you will encounter is half the battle. you would not want to drive a very tight lane and have to reverse out, but you wouldn't want to do this with just the vehicle either!
1 bit of advice is to disengage the trailer brake when offroad, if you need to shunt/reverse back up an incline then the trailer brake has usually been activated making it impossible. so disengage for lanes/engage for road. you dont need the brake for decent offroad as the engine braking will suffice. I did find the hitch rattles a lot more when you do this though which is a minor annoyance.
moving the weight from the 90 to trailer also helped stablise the unit as a whole and it drove much better onroad. Power was never a problem apart from on tarmac up steep hills.
The added length of the A frame also made a big difference. The trailer nearly tracked the 90 perfectly. the wheelbase of the trailer is about 2-3" shorter than the 90 and on the switchbacks on full lock the trailer cut an arc about 3" tighter. minor annoyance. When this was done by the previous owner he had no reason to get it the same, just to help towing behind his 110. If you have a 90 it would be worth getting it the same wheelbase exaclty. I think it would tow the exact line then.
Admittedly the weight in the trailer was negligable, I would estimate about 60kg over the front and a further 20kg in the rear. next time we will increase this load and then eventually get it up to 300-350kg which is the max load I want/need to carry. but so far I do not see a problem with this.
Once the lightweight gets sold, I will bring the trailer back to Bristol to start work sometime next year.

Thought I would bring this to the front.
Got this back to Bristol in August and have started by stripping the A frame and painting everything. The 3 wolf rims now have new KM2s fitted (255/85r16), I have removed all the gravelly latches as they were pants. Rivetted in design any pressure and offroad jigger saw them pop off... useless. Now fitted over centre catches. I have also cut out one of the internal bulkheads to be used on the otherside as that is where I want the Kitchen/Galley on the nearside.
some nice recessed handles turned up for the doors today so hopefully fit over the weekend. waiting on some nice stainless M4 bolts now to attach everything.
Questions for those more experienced. I have designed a rack for the Maggiolina to sit on (drawing attached) what do you think? also what size box section? I was thinking 50mm but what thickness? 2.5mm? I think 3mm might be too much. The rack has to be more structurally supportive than thickwall as its only the 60kg of RTT (and maybe 8kg of removable table, 16kg of waffle boards) it will be holding.
Let us know your thoughts/experiences.

I did think about it after a mate mentioned it. But I needed the height to clear my 33" spare which will be on the A frame. Also by mounting the 50mm box ontop of the 75x50mm I get some space to slide in 4 waffle boards and a big arse table (which Im yet to find/build).
What do you think? should I notch it in maybe 10mm to add strength?
Any tips on design appreciated, im out of my depth with this.

More progress on the trailer.
Rack built, bolted down, Maggiolina on. I notched the 50mm sections in a little too far (3-4mm) and the waffles dont slide in Will have to remedy it somehow. Was thinking spacers under the 4 clamps but then the weight will be on 4 points instead of spread across the 2 50mm sections.
Inside primered/painted with 2 coats, took 7 hours but happy with the finish.
During this time I finished off the kitchen galley section.
Few bits to do this weekend and next week but its coming along nicely now.
The Maggiolina has the thermal cover attached for anyone interested
