me 200tdi's not been starting right for a few weeks, go to start it and "click", thats it.

it eventually starts after a few attempts. I think the starter solenoids going, so I wondered can I repair/overhaul/tinker with it to get a bit more life out of it, or is it a replacement job?

someone said to me: "just t**t it with a hammer!", but I think thats good up to a point!:D

You might not even need an overhaul kit and tis a simple job, just a bit of emery cloth to clean the solenoid contact plate. It may be badly worn in which case an overhaul kit might be necessary but cleaning the contact up will get you outta trouble anyway.

Whilst your under there and before you take the starter off just have a look at the cables, might only be a loose connection there anyway.

Dont overlook the little thin wire neither ;)
