If anyone has a working original radio for the P38, I'm interested. I think it's a Clarion deivice. It's for my P38 restoration project.

Mines in use!
I've thought about 'upgrading' but can't see how I'd ever use the sub with a newer radio. If I'm right, is not standard preamp input

There was a change over for the Clarion and Alpine units in around 1999 IIRC..

There are couple different ones.
I don’t have the old unit but I do still have the facia panel if you need it (1995)

Yep checked the bible, defo 1999 changeover.

Sorry mines in use again I did change over for a Bluetooth one for music but changed back for an original brought from the bay
