Going to buy an orbital sander. Been googling and I'm looking at
Black & Decker KA198 230V 260W 125mm Random Orbit Sander £32.95

or
Bosch PEX 220 A 220 Watt Random Orbit Sander £45.95

Must admit I like Bosch stuff so will probably pay the extra.

Main question, cos I've no idea, what grades of grit papers will I need to buy to rub the bodywork down to painting readiness?

I have a slightly bigger bosch version ... da action and superb for the landy and has been going strong for 5+ years

if ive used filler then a quick blast with 150 grit, followed by 400 then 800 to give a last key before paint.... if its a smooth panel already,, 400 to shift the crud / laquer then 800 before paint

cheers steve

Not sure about duralumin but I find 80g for my heels, 60g for my toenails and 60g plus swarfega on my tongue.

Where the hell have ya had ya tongue?

Being an avatar of restricted stature, I find licking bus windows somewhat problematic hence my compromise of sticking my freakishly long and moderately prehensile tongue out to lick the panels of any bus I can between the front and rear wheel arches.

Since local authority cuts, it is increasingly difficult to experience interior window licking.
