some more constructive opinions here ;)

Quite fancy this but some people are warning me off of it. What are
you guy's opinions? Wouldn't take it over more than a single track
road.

Agreed. Buy one with a proper 4-wheel drive system. Shogun Pinin?

The Rav4 is (un)surprisingly pretty crap at off-roading, even green-laning
on relatively mild, say forestry type, tracks. I think they'd be fine for
simply pulling off the road over a verge, as any car is really, but I
wouldn't want to go much further in one. The suspension is setup for road
use and it's only a styling exercise to make it a '4x4'. IMHO.
