Hi everyone, just had my 98 300tdi in for MOT and she flew straight through! However one of the advisorys was that one of my headlights is dimmer than the other, MOT tester said it's probably a bad earth? Any ideas anyone? Thanks

head light as in dipped or side lights i have the same problem is your back one the same to?
dipped, sidelights are fine. No, my back ones are sound.
Where are the lights earthed?

balls i thought i may have found someone with the same probs my dipped and high beam are both the same but left side light and left rear bulbs(not brake light though) are dull compared to the right hand side
as for where there earthed not sure havnt really looked into it yet
I had this problem on my Disco.
It turned out to be badly corroded wires in the plug that plugs on to the bulb. Try wiggling the wires and see if it comes brighter, you may be lucky and get a good connection for a bit longer.
I'm looking for new connectors to fit mine as they are both badly rusted.

Exactly same as mine, new connection's for the earth's solved the uneven lighting.

Dont discount it being the actual bulb. I had the same on my Vauxhall Zafira for it's MOT. Checked wiring, removed and refitted bulb all to no avail.
Stuck a new bulb in (I had one in the shed) and hey presto, 2 bright lights.
When i compared the old buld to a new one it was noticably darker glass so maybe it was about fit to blow?
