I wonder if anyone can shed some light on a thought I've had?
My Defender 110 has a space next to the battery for a second battery.
What is the reason for this? Is it incase you need more power for a trailer, pick up for a caravan or to give more power to start in the Winter months?
Is it worth me using a second battery for everyday use?
Any help will be gratefully appreciated.

twin batteries is for a winch or if you've got more lights than the cast of Quadrophenia.

If you're not requiring a second battery then it's not worth fitting one. If you wire it up in parrallel then the better battery will be dragged down by the worse battery. To do the job properly you will need a split charge relay.

I had 3 batterys running my last landy and had them all on seperate isolators. Was dead handy for winching and running my urn and fridge.:)
