dam moter keeps telling me the key is in the ignition. i guess the switch may be up the swanny.

would alittle wd or silicone spray help? or is that asking for trouble?

WD is a double edged sword - it leaves a deposit which can attract crap, but it is a good system for "washing" out an electrical unit.
better is to wash it with alcohol and then spraying the lock with a graphite based lubricant.

Maplin do a switch cleaner which also includes a dry lubricant.

vauxhall have a problem with there new insignia ignition locks jamming slightly they now sell a small lock lube can comes with a nice aplicator and is ok to use in all locks ill try and find a part number for ya ,.
