stilsons, big spanner and hammers, :behindsofa: my god don't listen to these landy butcherin nasty people lol
get down halfords and buy a 29mm socket like i said and cut it down so it fits in the gap, clip on a decent size breaker bar and it'll come out no probs whatsoever, nothing broken/stripped and nuckles intact. if you can't afford one i'll post you my one as long as you promise to send it back
Cheers but 29mm ring spanners on its way.AND probbably new plug cos went with addy and stilsons first.Hopefully there enough of the corners left.Time will tell
Hi Goon,
If you use a ring spanner, place it in a downward position (Vertical) and slide under front of car, place your foot carefully on spanner and and push towards rear of car.
This sytem works for me, it wont work with a socket though as it falls off.
when using any of the "high force" methods such as a jack - watch out for the sump distorting. I have known this happen, which is why I prefer an air impact driver, as it imparts a sudden shock loading onto the plug rather than a slow steady pressure.
Good pair of stillies, safer than a socket or ring spanner when the heads rounded and less likely to slip, forget the adjustable they only round the corners-even a good one like Bahco.
Buy the new plug & washer first.
