Have problems with my 200tdi oil presure light flashing when hot, also starts to smoke a little when the light starts flashing,so far i have changed oil presure switch, and serviced the oil pump, which looks ok,can anyone help me out with what else this could be?

You need to check your oil pressure when hot, you will need a decent gauge that will screw in where your pressure switch is. By the sounds of it your bearings have worn and when the oil is hot (and at its thinnest) there is too much of a gap to maintain pressure.

There are two fixes for this, the proper one is to remove engine, strip down and replace all bearing shells, you will need to measure to make sure that your engine is running standard shells incase someone previous has carried out any crank work. You will then need to reassmble it all and refit the engine, its a major job and is easily 20 man hours of work.

OR

Put in a thicker oil...

will try that thank bud, descovered a new prob, front passanger head lights go very dull on idle reves and when i put power on they get brighter lol, what makes it more funny when oil light starts flashing my head lights do too lol

can any1 shine some light on that ? lol

unplugged my oil pressure swithch and my lights work omg this disco is giving me some run around lol, changed pressure switch no change will try testing altanator tomoz thanks for all the help

Check that the engine has a good earth!!!!

It's common f the earth lead to fall Off or rot away still think you have issues but make sure the engine block has a good earth

yep crank will be last move i think lol,a friend of mine says the same could be a bad earth, but she still runs sweet and not losewing oil now,so going to read up about how to check earth and how to make it right lol

when she gets hot she does smoke abit more than normal, might have to let 1 of you guys have a look,if close to donny,

easiest way to check earth, stick a jump lead between battery -ve and the engine block, see if this changes anything...

Also as I said before get an oil pressure gauge on it, this is a definite must do before you start thinking of replacing any parts...
