Gents and ladies if there are any,

I have recently decided to waxoyl the landie as I am going on holiday and need to use on a beach to launch a boat. This lead me to look at the front offside wheel and I noticed it was leaking a thick oil. On taking the wheel off it seems to be coming from the inside of the tube as in the attached photo. The centre of the hub.

Any idea what causes this and the remedy.

Sounds as though the wheel/hub bearings are on their way out. Remove the circlips, undo the five 17mm bolts, and remove the drive flange. Make sure you have some newspaper or similar on the floor to soak up the oil that will no doubt come out, then remove the hub nuts, lock washer et al, check, replace as necessary, tighten back up, and hopefully all will be good. If this doesn't help, you may have to remove the hub from the stub axle. I think the Haynes manual shows better than I can explain it. Good luck
