I think I have the later type oil filter (type B), do you have to use a socket to remove this, if what size it? and where can I get one?- its the first time I am doing a oil change , just want to make sure I have the correct tools etc.
'98 2.5 d auto
oh and I am going to use a oil extractor- ( I know I am a lazy fart)

I got one here if you live close enough, if not just use water pump grips. The top shouldn't be tight so you won't bugger it up when you undo it.

Its 32mm socket iirc, they cost about £7 from all good, and some not so good, tool shops.
