Hi, im going to change the oil filter on my disco and just wondered what brand to go for, ive seen a few original landy ones on ebay but wondered would a less expensive one do just the same job? any brands to go for/steer clear of? cheers.

any would do really, genuine LR ones i would probably go for, they cant be much more than the others

I once saw a video once on how oil filters are made in the factory, at the end the production line parted into the spray booths where the filters had the different colours put on, black, white, yellow, orange and then came the different names.. so most oil filters are the same as come from the same place.

I've used Champion, Cooper, Fram, Genuine and even Halfords own brand and they are all the same.

I saw Genuine oil filters at the Billing LR show for a £5.
