Hi mate
I have just cured the exact same problem.
There is an air con vent that blows air either side of the tunnell down into the footwell, both sides of tunnell along bottom edge of centre console roughly in line with the gearstick, switch blower on and feel for the air.
From these vents there is a water drain that allows water to flow out of the system, these get blocked and fill with water which then flows down the side of the tunnel under the carpet and results in the foam under the carpet soaking up loads of water and causing a puddle near the front of the drivers door opening.
Get under the car and look up between the tunnel and gearbox, you will see a rubber tube about 2" long with a pointed bit on the end, either squeeze the pointy bit and give it a wiggle about or just pull it out of the end of the tube (at this point your arm will get very wet). Best to pull it out and give it a good clean, if you dont do driving through rivers then leave it out and it wont get blocked again!
Remember there is one on both sides of the tunnel, passenger side one is harder to get at but can still be done without taking anything apart.
Hope that works for you!
