No.4 Piston has decided to weld part of itself to the bore.

Oh well... Plan of action is, try using a honing tool to sort the bore out, Use a Pistion Crown from my old engine (Luckily they are both standard size) along with a new set of rings... Put it all back together and hope for the best. Bit of a lash up, but I loath to spend more money on it.

That should sort it, these damn engines are built like tanks :lol: I did the salisbury day out with 1mm valve clearances and broken rings...

It took a LONG time yesterday, but i have hopefully recovered the bore! Used a small screwdriver as a chisel and alot of Emery Cloth... But it looks and feels alright now Only problem part is there is a slight mark above the pistion ring travel but that should be alright!

Pulled the sump and the Strenghthener afterwards, Removed the piston and luckily the rest of the bore looks brilliant... The piston itself.. another story! The Rings came off in above 5 bits.... Mullered is not the word. I don't know how it did not cause more damage to the bore, but think I have been lucky. Will get some pictures up during the week... Parts arrived from Paddocks on Friday, so i just need to get my arse into gear and get it done. Insurance on the Fiesta runs out on Friday so it is abit of a race, but there is no point in rushing it and the same thing happening 3 weeks down the line......

Indeed. I know that in an ideal world, I would take the block out, have it rebored, get some oversized pistions ect ect... All of that = Money. Something that all of us have a great deal of .

I might be bodging it back together but if it runs ok... I could not really care less. I need it to work for another 6 months, after that I will probably be stripping the 110 for bits or selling it as a project.

6 miles ...

We will see... Not cost me much apart from a few gaskets...
