Dont shoot!!!
Anyone know if the offset on a set of regular defender steels rims is the same as a set of Disco 1 steels???
:behindsofa:

I believe that the steels fitted to the Disco1 had less offset.
A friend fitted a set many years ago and lost steering lock despite using the same tyres.

Cheers that the problem i have got Disco ones with 265's that rub on the hockey sticks on full lock half the people tell me not to worry it wil get though MOT other half say it is a failure all about discretion! seen 5 defender steels for £100 dont know whether to but them all though i am skint or just stick some 10mm spacers on or bigger stop bolts!!! head is fooked on what to do.........

why not just adjust the steering stops. a large bolt on each hub that contacts the axle/hub flange when on full lock. If ya not sure where/what it is. just turn ya wheels onto full lock and get under front of disco. where the hub is bolted to the axle case you'll see a bolt sticking out of swivel housing itll almost be touching axle flange undo it until it is touching and there's a gap between the tyre and the radius arm.

stops are fully adjusted the problem is there fitted to a defender, not my doing the last owner!
Live and learn.......

Fit longer bolts. It really is that simple.. ya can always swap/adjust em back after MOT.

thank you redhand :D some times the simplest answer is the best if you know the bolt size i would be grateful but no big deal, fooking glad the day is done need sleep.

M12 I think???? but just take old one out and take it with you to hardware store/fastenings supplier

thanks just needed someone to give me a **** around the ear and put me on the straight and narrow!!!!!
