could any of you chaps impart a bit more knowledge before I take the plunge
and buy my first 4x4...

Is it worth my while taking some off road lessons or should I just take the
plunge and turn up at an event? I have looked into lessons but they seem a
bit expensive (about £100.00 for 2 hours), but if its worthwhile I'd happily
pay it.

also, when you guys go off roading do you take out extra insurance cover,
I'm guessing it isn't covered by normal SD+P insurance, if you do how much
are you paying?

Join a club and ask advice, most of it is common sense, you will also need to
propely prepare your vehicle, as a newbie good recovery points is a good place
to start ;-)

No, you bend it you pay for it at a play site, normal insurance covers you for
Green lanes.

i htink it is worth it so at least u knwo the basic on how to drive in 4x4
mode. It can be VERY different to how u drive the truck on the paved road.
