I am havinging problems with my disco atm. Sometimes I get this annoying seeking and scraping noise when driving. It's not all the time. And seems to be bad when I turn left. I have checked all brake pads so it can't be that. I can't work out what it is.

Also when driving my parking brake light sometimes rapidly flashes at me. Could that be something todo with it?

Hope someone could share some light on this or help me narrow the options down

Cheers goz

you might want to check brake fluid level and hand brake cable length or shoes for returning fully ,also rh wheel bearings

All of the above seems to be alright, apart from the back near side wheel when jacked up in the air does seem to have a slight wobble, could that be the wheel bearing going? And making that horrible noise?

Could well be......especially if it rumbles when you spin it. If no rumble tweak the bearing up until there's no free play but still spins freely.

If you can't adjust out the free play without effecting free spin then you need new bearings

Thanks mate, how easy is it to change the bearing completely? As I found the bearing kit so might change it. As so far everything I have had to do to take off the truck has been a right pain as I don't thing anything has been changed since the truck has left the factory

Wheel bearings are easy. Just remember that the mangled mess of metal you take off used to look like the new one once upon a time. And plenty of grease!!

Usually easy enough to knock out and press in. Only thing that might be tricky is if the inner race has tried to weld itself to the shaft......they can take a bit of shifting.....

I had a little man do mine :D:D:D

If you want to trundle down to stroud I'll give you a hand if yer want

Also check the springs on the pad retainers, they are at the top of the caliper. If they are shot or not there the pads can rattle and make a right noise on the disk!.
