:doh:Hi
Can anyone tell me if the P38 is OBD-2 compliant an if so what OBD-2 protocols it uses as I am looking at geting some diognostic kit in the not too distant future.
Any advice apreciated.

it is obd2 compliant but only for the engine ecu, it uses ISO9141-2

i have one of these: ELM327 Scanner USB Version - X-electronic Wholesale Center - Product Details

you will need a testbook or rovacom for anything other than the engine ecu

the black box stuff is good but pricey, if you get the eas lead and a generic obd cable your pretty much covered for emergencies. theres only the security stuff thats the next common carstopper!

it depends whether you want to do the whole lot or just what you need. with the faultmate i think its locked to your car, rovacom and testbook do any vehicle so long as you have the licence for that model!

Thanks to you all thats givern me some reserch to do,I see what you mean about the black box stuff being pricey is it ever!!!!!
