My disco 1 300 tdi auto seems to be struggling going up hills, it doesnt seem to want to rev under load, if i use kickdown it drops a gear but seems to be holding back and wont accelerate as it should, i changed the fuel filter as ive been using veg oil through the summer last year, but it made no difference, any ideas chaps ?

I'm no expert, but from the few experiences I've had of losing power it could be air getting into the fuel system, fuel blockage or restricted air flow into the engine. The elbows on the sender unit in my motor had cracked so I gave just put a load of silicon sealant around it until I can afford £60 for a new one. I also had an air filter go soggy and get sucked into the air intake pipe after driving through flood water. Then yesterday I had a clogged filter inside my lift pump which caused loss of power and a noisy injection pump.

Intercooler hoses collapsing would cause it. Take them off and have a gander. Should only take 10 minutes.

thanks guys i took the air filter out and it was completely fooked so was obviuosly being starved of air under load so fitted a new one and was all good lol
