Hi, andy here, I recently bought a freelander td4 2001 3dr milage 56000, didn't pay that much for it 1300, because there was a few issues, three amigos and good stop light always on, any way, replaced all the abs sensors, stop switch replaced, vcu replaced as prop bearings had collapsed, better safe than sorry as it had a new rear diff fitted before I bought it, all filters replaced including pcv, my question is on oil consumption, is it normal to go from the top measure to the low marker in 2000 miles? Anyway looking forward to landyzone12 as it's just 20 min down the road from sunny corby, looking forward to meeting you all ! Oh and three amigos still on! But I can live with it lol

I have done about 3,000 miles in my TD4 2001 since I bought it a months ago and the oil level has hardly moved. Are you getting smoke at all?

My previous was a Golf Mk4 GTI Turbo that used about the same as yours. I think the turbo oil seals were crapped up. When I had it remapped it was having its tits thrashed off on the dyno and blew a huge could of smoke out the back and it was fine after that.

Based on my limited experience, I would take it down the motorway in 3rd for a few miles to get some decent heat in to it.

Nope no smoke, all temp readings are normal, though when I replaced the pvc filter there was oil in the pipework but put that down to turbo blowback
