ok td5 going fine til i came home for half hour. went back out and she wont start! dash lights that come on are only oil and battery. not ecu and heaterplugs which do normally come on with bat and oil wen ignition at position2. also the fuel pump not buzzing! engine does crank over but thats it. no alarm or immob fitted. im thinking ecu broke cos it not lighting up on dash at all?

help any1 lol

have you checked the plugs at the ECU?? also check yer fuse box under drivers seat.....earth connecting sometimes gives trouble.
 
ye managed to find out what it was. there was bad earth connection on chassis. cleaned it all upand going fine now. The handbrake lever was shorting out when i moved it. only had to touch it really and the thing stopped lol.
Y should`nt you use wd40???? I didnt by the way lol.
 
WD40 contains salt and will leave a residue which is not a good electrical conductor, a proper electrical contact spray from somewhere like RS conponents or a good motor factor is best

That they may, BUT . . salt(s) especially in a disolved state are also highly corrosive to metals, (especially copper), which will quickly oxidise and create a higher resistance thus impeding current flow :cool:
