Last Friday while I was at the LRO show in my D2 (with newly sealed sun roofs!) my wife rang complaining that she was driving in a filled goldfish bowl.

When I got home I had a look at the sunroof in her freebie and both seals are cream crackered.

It's a 5 door 2000 ES TD4 and where there should be a sunroof switch there's just a blanking plate??

There're no manual flip catches on the sunroof.

Did LR dispatch some vehicles with unopenable sunroofs, or has someone in the chain of ownership removed the switch?

I can force the sunroof up a few mm so it's not been sikaflexed or gunged up...

Ta.

Its most likely removed because of a broken sunroof is my guess.

If you send me your VIN on PM i can check how it was delivered from the factory.

I bet the gears in the sunroof have stripped and the last owner managed to close it so to save accidently opening it have removed the switch!! Mine went and we managed to get it shut after a lot of messing about I've left the switch in but must have a look at it soon looks like a pig of a job to do though!!!

Mine broke on one side about 6 years ago , I have removed the fuse to stop it being opened by mistake .

switch illumination still works if you pull the fuse too - obviously not if you unplug the switch ;)
