Shall be doing some diagnostics tomorrow but was wondering if anyone has had this issue and where the fault was. Both rear lights dont work but brake lights, front lights, and number plate lights do.Fog light doesnt, but obviously on the same circuit that has the fault. I'm thinking an earthing problem maybe but was hoping that someone might be able to save me some time if they've had this fault before. Cheers

Sounds more like a loom fault than earth, but could be wrong.

Have they just suddenly stopped working or is this an old fault?

If sudden - and unlikely to be both bulb holders at the same time - worth checking the contacts inside the lamp lens - they can get coroded

Rear fog light should be on a different circuit - only comes on with ignition on and headlamps on dipped beam

I would have said check the fuse, but strange that the number plate light is on, thats usually the same circuit as the tail lights.

They've suddenly stopped working. The brake lights work so not the bulbs or holders. I had the rear harness removed and repaired after some chaffing had welded some cables together recently so sholdnt be in that area, been fine for a few months.
Both fuses ok

Sory Waz, without being able to check the bulb holders with a voltage probe, and then working my way back - out of ideas

Frustrating!

No worries, shall be busy with the multimeter on sunday and try and shed some light on it!!! Thanks anyway.

Have you got the right bulbs in? Could someone have put indicator bulbs in the brake lamp socket?

Yes the right bulbs are in, led's have been in there for about a year now and brake lights work so not the bulbs. Had a good check round today and none the wiser. Think I'll have have to do what I hate doing when theres a problem and take it to a garage.:(
