The glow plugs on my 300tdi have no power getting to them. The relay is ok and all associated fuses are intact. What I am I missing here? Electrics are not my strong point.

The feed for the glow plug relay is fed from the yellow starter relay by the red/white wire
Does the glowplug light come on the dash??

So timer is working too then I'd guess, you tried all to make sure its just not one thats working ?

Could also be a poor earth

If the dash light is coming on / going off it sounds like the timer is working ok
You could test from the 1st glow plug wire to earth with a volt meter or 5w lamp - have you done that??

Wonder if theres a short in the wire, if power if getting to the relay and the relay is working then the only thing left would be a bad connection to the plug itself

Yep you could check the output pin from the relay - if there is no voltage present with the glow plug light on - its the relay or relay feed wire ;)

Starting to look like the feed wire as I put new relay in but nothing changed. I will check the output pin on the relay.

Looking at the wiring diagram :
white/red = relay activation wire
brown = feed from battery to glow plugs via relay
white = switched live
yellow/black = glow plug dash light
black = relay earth

yellow/black = glow plug feed wire
