evening all after a bit of advice pls

i now have no drive in high or low box in my 200tdi 90 csw

the rear prop just spins

i do get drive if i put it in to diff lock

oh and the hand brake only works when in diff lock

what ya all think cheers gas

cheers was hoping it was transfer box allways fancied fitting a disco one , but a new rear axle with discbrakes is one job i wanted to do as well.

just a shame i broke it in devon and have to get recoverd 270 miles home with me pikeywagon by the aa

Front broke on mine and I removed front prop and drove it around in diff lock for a couple of weeks before I fitted another one.

broken half shaft is more likely and much cheaper and easier to fix

i thought of that but devon to peterboro was to far

and i have a parts/labour insurance thing with the aa 5 x £500 for breakdowns each year so had to get recoverd for them to pay for it jus which they was a bit quicker to get us home

i thought it might of been the transferbox which i have sorted a disco one, and i got a new roof for it as well when i can get over to my caravan to get me camera i supose i will have to put piccys up in the f*ckup thread of me squashed roof bloody devon trees....

when iwas in diff lock the front near side wheel was spinning on grass trying to get over a mole hill ridge

Yes if it's been off roading when it happen ,but the diff pin braking and the gears falling out can just happen with wear and tear.

yes i was off road and stuck under a tree now have no roof one side but she got her self out with some welly and the loss of a roof

how do i check if its a half shaft or a rear prop pls, theres no grinding noise ive drove it for 20 -30 miles front steering feels like its in difflock cheers,gas

Pull out the half shafts, it's really easy and if good leave them out as you will be removing the diff next.

its a broken half shaft rear off side, so far

my local indy landy garage has a rear axel 24 spline with disc brakes off a defender

think i will have that

the replacement roof he sorted me is bloody green my 90 is white allover....

think i might paint roof black

least im back on road and learnt another lesson or two..
