Hi all,

I need to remover No.1 intector on my Td4 engine, to replace the copper sealing washer which i suspect is letting diesel through, and causing it to puddle up top... Ive got it to move a little by using the torx bolts, but now they wont push it out any more.. Ive seen puller kits on eBay,

but i presume they need the top part of the injector removed to fit the attachment. But i cam only turn it a bit before it fouls.

Are you sure the leak isn't from the spill rail at the top?

I've removed injectors by undoing the clamp nuts 1/2 turn, cranking the engine, another 1/2 turn, cranking...

Remember to disable the fuel pump by removing the relay, and be prepared for some spillage from the union and spill rail. Don't just undo the whole clamp and crank as the injector could be shot out with some force.

If you did not live at a galaxy to far away, maybe another member could have popped round to help you in person, I still can not work out why lots of members do not add were they live, what engines they have, add their real names to end of posts etc, make it hard to address owners properly, anyways always best to remove injectors after a good run in the car to get the engine hot, then 99% of the time the injector will pry out easy, if doing it from cold you will most likely need a slide hammer as you posted a link to.

If prying out make sure you use a metal flat bar to pry off on top the cam cover other wise it can get damaged.

@guineafowl21 yes im pretty sure it's not coming from anywhere else other than the cylinder head, tried cranking but no use.

@Arctic2 i will have to try it with a hot engine like you say, but how did you get the top part of no. 1 injector off, without damaging it, in order to get the slide hammer attachment on. Mine will only turn 1/4 turn before if fouls on the cam cover?
