They are gradually trying to removing the human element from everything but as we all know, it's impossible to make anything C**t proof. :crazy_driver:
 
You really have to wonder why a company like Nissan or anybody else for that matter, would spend millions developing something as stupid as drive by wire which will need servos, computers Etc Etc Etc. When a £100.00 rack and pinion does a seriously better job.

It's so they can put the steering wheel where they like, including "in the back seat" according to Masaharu Satou, a Nissan engineer. :D
 
The best place is usually up front where the driver can see, hang on, that's where it is now.
Now that's progress :D

They maybe trying to reduce cost. But the ejection seats will cost a bloody fortune. Pulling the eject handle going under a motorway bridge could give you a serious headache. This really is the most nonsensical idea i have heard for a very long time.
 
It will be fine when they get the bugs out of the software and cure the Rf interferance.

Not sure what will happen when the potentiometer connected to the steering wheel gets worn.
 
You get a lot of driving feel through the steering wheel, ie uneven surfaces, slippery roads

Once you take away that link how can you tell what's going on ?
