That's great, thank you!!! Have you fitted it yet? It only lists the Defender and Discovery on that site! Saying that, this site (Autoleads PC2-14-4 - Land Rover Defender, Discovery Wiring Harness Adaptor ISO Lead) list the Defender and Freelander, but not the Discovery - helpful!!

I am pretty sure the ones on my 72 rrc are sealed beam but i didnt thing the ones on my 1990 rrc were.
anyway they are so ****e you wont want em to work, I went and got those ring ones I told you about and they are only twice the cost of the bulbs and about 10 times better!

I was quoting from the handbook for the '88 version. Can't remember what mine holds to be honest. Only ever filled it up 3 times - 1st when I bought it - it was £64.75 in March this year which was about 12 gallons so your 14 gallons sounds bob on. I got 17mpg on the rapid motorway journey home to the next fill up. The one after that though I got 11mpg which was a lot of knocking about but the main thing is it wasn't getting warm. Thermostat was u/s. Changed this and filled up again and it did a lot better - around 15mpg which I don't think is bad for a twenty year old 4L truck.
Yep, 1991 also. 3.9 Vogue SE.

Regarding Headlamps. Yeah, sealed beams are common, but if you got ones where you can change the bulbs (both mine are), they'll more than likely be H4 types. Several different type of lamp with the removable bulb, some have the extra port for smaller 'side' lights, others don't. Check the reflector inside isn't lifting due to rot. Its really common for people to loose/not bother putting the rubber sealing around the bulb/s, so moisture gets in, the light units fill with water and rot from the inside out. Worth keeping them if they're good.
I replaced both on the bobtail with ones off ebay for £30 for the pair. Then fitted with some quality Osram H4 bulbs from the high street (so I know they're CE road legal, not like much of the chinese 'wonder blue' etc crap on ebay). I have bad memories of sealed beam units from my Mini and Fiat X/9 days, and wouldn't want to go there again. There's normally a reason why they are cheap to buy.
