Hi guys,

Only had my p38 1999 2.5 for a couple of weeks now....still getting used to everything....only thing is i can't for the life of me figure out why i've got no air coming through the forward air vents..........i've got the windscreen ones but not the driver and passenger ones......

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Alex

Because the HEVAC unit and everything attached to it was made from plastic that would normally be associated with kinder surprise??

Have you taken the auto off in the panel and pressed the correct button for direction of air flow . If you have, then your blend motors are playing up.

Defo sounds like Blend Motors....do a search on here loads of posts on these little feckers...

If it's only the forward vents but all other positions work, maybe the ducting has been displaced.

Don't the blend motors just affect temperature, not distribution?
There are 3 blend motors - One for each Temp control on passanger and drivers side, and a third that controls the distribution flap.

If you can select the distribution of air from screen through to the feet level, then the blend motor may be OK....

If the distribution is stuck to screen only or feet only, it could be the motor is stuck.

If the air distribution changes, but still nothing out of the face level - consider blocked or disconnected ducting....

More than likely it is a blend motor failure - or (and this is more common on the Distribution motor) the actual flap the motor drives is stuck....

Accessing the motors is a son-of-a-B!tch, but there are shortcuts, check out www.rangerovers.net as there are some good walkthroughs and tests for the blend motors.
