Hi there. Im Johno, (no so) proud owner of a 2001 Freelander S 1.8 petrol.....Yeah yeah, should have bought a diesel I know! :)
Im an old fart from the Shropshire hills, HGV driver, & a bit of a plank!
Having spent the last 11 years or so tuning, building & blowing up Saabs I felt a change of motor was in order, Ive always loved the look of the 3 door Freelander 1, so like a total fool I did no reasearch at all & went out & bought one!
To be honest I love it, well most of it! Despite its knackered drivers door window cables, non working remote door lock unit, broken rear dif mounts, crazy fuel consumption & constant flashing engine light its a tidy little tub!
Missing & chugging away like a 25 year old Massy tractor at low revs Im sure this car is out to break me! :D
But like the berk that I am Im not giving up on it yet, & would like to thank the lads at Salop 4x4 for their help these past few weeks.

Just thought Id pop in & say how doooo to you all.

You didn't have to show it with it's bonnet up! :D

WELCOME! Have a shufty at the Freelander section for more help (hopefully!)

Get used to the bonnet being up going to spend most of the time like that.but at lease it will take your mind of the doors falling of

Cheers guys!
To be honest in the last five weeks the bonnet has been open more times that its been closed!
Prop was removed when the R/H/S rear diff mounting broke & knackered the inner cv rubber boot at the same time, havnt got round to putting it back on yet.
Its a strange car, but I kinda like it. Next one will deffo be a diesel, canna be doing with this 1.8 lump. More trouble than its worth! ;)

Im starting to think so matey.
Need to keep this one going till times get a bit better, main factor was the parts prices against the Saabs, I didnt however think I was going to have so many issues with a car in such a short space of time, considering the amount of money the previous owner spent on sorting all the Freelanders bad points, it looked (on paper at least) a good buy.
