I dont know if this has been done before, i have never seen it. I was putting in new wheel bearings in the front of my ninety. Looking around for something big enough to drift the seal into the rear of the disc/bearing housing. I looked at the thick drive flange laying on the wing of the land rover waiting to be re-assembled. To my suprise the inside of the drive flange has a rim that is exactly the right size to drift the seal in. It also fits nicely with the raised edge of the seal without damaging it. If you don't have proper seal drivers, its a good way of doing it
