I am having a nightmare with my new stereo. It is fitted and working, all but the Sub.

I have tried looking at the Haynes workshop manual but as normal that never seems to have all the information and I have lead colours that do not appear on there.

It appears that there is a blue and yellow lead that goes into the blocks (original wiring) but does not have a lead to connect that to the stereo leads. This leads is also present into the sub amp.

Having spent ages looking at the wiring it appears that this wire has no corresponding connection to my stereo head.

What does it do and is there a jury rig to get round it.

There is a blue and white cable on the new stereo head and this apparently connects to the auto arial (which I do not have) and aspare bit of wire which connects to the amp power.

My problem is that in the photos there is a brown and red where no idea what that does and the blue and yellow wire. Could the blue and yellow wire be described as the system control for the amp.

May of identified the Brown and red wire after loads of googling as the radio illumination.

But what is the blue and yellow wire.

The orange and green one appears to be a permanent live.

Would it have a permanent live and a switched live to the rear sub ??

Anyone got a proper wiring diagram not from Haynes as that does not have the right wires shown.

There's no wiring diagram I know of, do what I and others have done and get out the multimeter and prove the wires from the rear amplifer back to the head units ISO plug.

Yes the amp requires two 12v feeds, a permanant live which is the same one as used for the head unit and a switched live that will be provided by the head unit, the wire could be blue, it's the output feed used for electric antenna or additional kit like amps and bluetooth car kits. There will also be an audio feed required from the head units pre-amplified output.

There are ISO adapters for plugging in the original sub... I simply replaced the mini amp and it's speakers with some sub speakers of the same size that don't require amplification then wired them into the hinge-side rear speaker. Works fine for me for everything I listen to but then I don't require my vehicle shaking like it is having a seizure ;)
