actually for once i didn't do ANY at all :-( my 4x4 of choice tbh was my old 1990 Landcruiser 4.2 Turbo - i loved that car so much and when her gear box (automatic , she wasn't perfect i am not a automatic kind of girl) went and i was in the middle of moving and in a mad moment sold her has been my biggest regret ever since :-( that car was my soul mate as much as cars can be yeah ok enough sounding like a old hippie...
and actually she is a really nice colour matches my wellies

welcome!!
the freelanders are not patic reliable mainly down to headgaskets going easily. my sister bought one for the horses and ended up selling it 2 months later because the heagasket went for the 3rd time. She now has a Smart car as her mobile tack room
if you do end up getting rid of the freelander would say go discovery 1.
