Yes that's the fooker!!

In fact thinking about it, As it has been on all the Td5 D2 engines , even if it is not connected, I expect it is fitted as part of the engine assy, and if it is even possible to remove from where it is as a separate part?

Interesting..........Go and chuck a post up in the Discovery section and see if anyone has ever removed it?

Cheers

I would want to make sure LR did not make any other changes , ( After all they did like to add surprises) to anything else before blanking the Oil cooler exit off.

As I can see it's as per attached files you sent me .. on pipe 6 is there supposed to be some sort of rubber bush in the mounting o/s? I tried supporting the pipe with plastic ties round the head lift bracket !!! EGR pipe just laughed rattling away

@Gingermgf

If you can wait until the AM, I will go and have a look at mine, but as I have just gout out of the bath after doing the injector washers and seals I do not really want to go and get dirty again this evening.:p:p:p

Just found this it should be attached by the gearbox to engine bolts I noticed there's one or two bolts missing when I changed the gearbox oil think it's beadles handywork landrover dealership blackheath when they charged the previous owner extortionate amounts of money to change the clutch flywheel etc not sure if that's a rubber mounting to stop vibrations? Top right of photo

That second picture shows a rubber grommet, this is one of the fixing grommets for the plastic rear of engine acoustic panel .

Cheers

Was wondering about that as I can lift that pipe up and down I guess it's either broken or the bolt is missing panic over! Wonder if I took the rocker cover off I'll be able to get to it? Think it's one of many leaks !! Oil filter housing ,transfer box /gearbox seal asw

@Gingermgf

This is the pipe, as you can see it does not have a grommet , it is bolted in.. the second is on the other side, but getting to it from the other side is more difficult, you may be better of accessing both from the Near side.

Yep no bolts in the top of the gearbox at all !!! Just looking at the invoice from Beadles reckon they couldn't be bothered to put the bolts back in the gearbox/engine properly ! Only done about 1000 miles since they replaced clutch till I acquired the disco , now I have to trace some bolts think there's only about 3-4 holding it together .Theres a breakers in standon Massey near ongar think I'll take the 30 min trip!!

thats the rear accoustic cover bolt there are 2 of them, the pipe is just held by the two top bell housing bolts, which are m10 x 50 fb110101l

Seems the EGR coolant pipe brackets that attach to the gearbox the o/s one is trapped between the gearbox and the cylinder head ! It won't budge ,I've found some bolts 5 where missing all except the long one under where the pipe is trapped, think I'll wait till I get a rocker gasket then tackle it !I bent the pipe out with a jimmy bar now it no longer rattles , how it managed to get trapped in there I feel two options either it's trapped because the head has come off or when Beadles of blackheath Kent changed the gearbox bin some meddling hands at work here ..thanks for every one who has replied

when you remove the box the 2 tabs that secure the pipe get in the way of refitting box its easy to trap the tabs in the bell housing or they can stop you getting box aligned, i usually bend them up out of the way then bend them back over the bell housing when refitting the top 2 bolts

That's what's happened the two have been bent up then trapped not in the bell housing but between the head and bell housing and just left like it presumably by a reputable landrover dealership ,first I need to get some more jizer and give it a jet wash

them 2 bolts are quite vital theres nothing else holding box to engine till you get below half way down
