Hi all just saying hello and getting used to this.I have not long recently purchased a freelander td4 and today noticed the back tyre looked flat.I checked the pressure and it was 15 while the rest was 40 so getting repaired the morra.but what is the correct pressure for 215/65r16?i also have a noise from the rear, the lad did say it would need a new bearing in a few month and I didn't hear it on test drive but it seems to be getting louder?could it just be worse if the tyres are over inflated?tyres are all new (open country).thanks, any help appriciated

Hi, welcome to the zone :)

Tyre makes, wear levels and pressures are critical on a Freelander, unless you want very expensive repair bills :(

Pop over to the freelander specific forum and search for VCU, IRD, Diff Mounts and you'll start to get the idea.

Once you start to search remember the hitch hiker's guide to the galaxy, and don't panic ;) The freebie is a tough, easy to work on and reasonably reliable bit of kit as long as you know how to treat it.

If you have a knackered bearinng it is most likely the VCU bearing, if it's definitely from the rear it could be more expensive :(

Hi all, I'm new to site and landi's, last week I purchased a 1999, disco 2, TD5, very pleased. Just one thing, i've noticed when closing the tail gate, the door seems to have dropped and the lock and hasp are out of line. But when I open the door fully there is no slack movement. I've looked for guidence in the Hynes manual, but no luck. Has any body got any idears, please. Thanx Simon

Rave is an electronic version of a workshop manual. Effectively the land rover book of lies!

I have the Disco 1 version and also pdfs the series 3 books.

It is searchable and has much useful information. If you need it let me know, I am sure that I would be able to source a copy for you;)

Hi ryder, I've only gone and fixed it (the tail gate that is), I tried the rave but computer didn't like it. So went about it the old fationed way, started undoing nuts untill tail gate moved and vwala!!

Thanx for you help
