Hi all
I am new to the forum and new to Landys!!!
Just bought a 98 v8i disco with lpg conversion, lovely motor except for one problem so here goes, hope someone can help :)
Every now and again (3 times in 100 miles) there is a loud bang that sounds like it is coming from the passenger side at the front. There is no rhyme nor reason to when this happens and its not when I go over a bump!!!
Can anyone cast some light on this for me cos I am scared the soddin thing will blow up!!!

Thanks

Kezza

By that do you mean the box with the air filter in it???? If so yes, one of the clips is missing and it does sound like a blast of air rather than a metal bang!!! As you can probably tell I am not mechanically minded so please forgive my ignorance!!! lol

is it when you floor it from stand'still or booting it to overtake
as we have a automatic petrol / lpg motor at work and if you floor it away from lights when its on lpg it makes a loud bang from air,box and has even split one open
might be worth trying it on petrol without lpg on

Actually now you say it 1968unclefester, it is when I have put my foot to the floor (which doesn't happen that often!!!!lol) The last time was at a busy roundabout so you could be on to something there! Thanks :)

i would get the gas system checked over , our one has a gas manifold lump that sits on top of inlet lump inside airbox and it jumps up , like a back fire and gives off a almighty bang
