Hi Guys,

I bought a land rover discover today. Its a 94 200tdi with the below spec

2 inch lift kit

33x12.5 R16 tyres

arch extensions

steering guard

snorkle

rock sliders

winch bumper

I'm actually terrified that I may have made a mistake as I don't really know much at all about these cars or off roading. I just wanted to give green laning a try really. I'm concerned that I perhaps should have bought a 300tdi as now having bought mine, the 200tdi's seem rather worthless by the looks of things online.

Any advice at all is appreciated.

its a better lump to fix apparently, well easier.

Welcome. The 200tdi and 300tdi are both good engines, the main difference is the 200 has a LT77 gear box where as the 300 has a R380 gear box, the R380 is ment to take more abuse and the inside workings for reverse are better, but I am fitting a LT77 on to my V8 and are good boxes.

How is yours for rust? Thats the biggest problem with them.
