Did mine with smooth black hammerite. After I sprayed the heat proof stuff on and realised it wouldn't dry (needs to set at high temp or somefink like that). It wouldn't let me paint over it anorl. When I did it seemed to melt into the new paint. So I scrapped it oft and used hammerite instead. Job sorted.

Did think about that at the time but the smell of warmed up paint would have stunk the house out. So I gave in and wiped it oft. Hammerite is the bestist. :D

Wood burner heat resistant spray black worked well on mine, still looks good after nearly two years but they were new drums.

To return to the OP's original question - I'm very, very happy with the EBC discs and 'Green-Stuff' pad I fitted some 60K ago.

The original discs were replaced at 30K by the main dealer (whom I no longer trust) and they wore out and corroded in another 30K

So the EBC bits - both discs and pads have already done double the LR parts mileage and have loads of life left.

Singvogel.
