I got my new classic on Saturday. Haven't done much to it yet... it's going to be a rolling restoration I think. Anyway I've started building a lit of bits to fix on it. So far I have a few bits of trim, headlining, fuel gauge (doesn't lift from the bottom), slow reacting rev counter and a new regulator for the passenger side added to the list. Anyway I'm sure Ill find more. The plan it to take care of all the little jobs then tackle the bodywork in the summer.

So I spend some time under the hood today giving everything a look over and found this disconnected and resting on the chassis rail. It was just behind the alternator but I cant see anything missing from the back of the alternator - Has anyone got an idea of what it has come off??

I'll tackle the first job of a good service next weekend if the weather is nice. Oil, plugs, dizzy cap, rotor arm, coolant, fuel filter, oil filter, air filter etc etc. Anything else I'm missing from that service? Ill also have to work out how to check auto gearbox levels etc.

It goes across the the main alternator output and the case, however looking at the state of it, I would bin it and get a replacement.

thanks....does have a better sound....ill call it that... i know what it does....just the name escaped me...
