Both... when correctly installed will have their terminals at the rear and neg left, pos right just like the day when they left the factory
but is "officially" the wrong way round
So why did you allude to the info being incorrect?

I feel as though this post may have become slightly sidetracked but thanks for all the advise. The battery isn' f Halfords. It has the date of installation written in permanent marker and was made in Turkey... I'll take it for a good drive and keep an eye. I have a bicycle so if it doesn't start I can cycle the short distance to work (I probably should anyway) then I can come back here and buy a battery using your advice. Thankyou

I seen somewhere that just starting a vehicle a 15 mile + journey is required to replace the current drain in starting, no doubt that depends on vehicle, but ha-ho keep away from frequent short runs, and it doesn't hurt to top-up with a charger over night when required.

was supposed to allude to the fact that it doesn't really matter, and in my full post I indicated that 069 / 072 are the same form factor, and also said that provided it fits, then, with qualification, cool. I also said that your link is to a decent battery

A battery is a battery lol, the battery in my V8 D1 was dying off rapidly and there was a scrapper Ka lying in my mates work yard, the battery was a teeny wee thing and the terminals were the wrong way round, blocked it up with a bit of wood and just managed to get the terminals on to do me a few days. 6 or 7 months on it’s still there and starts her fine, even after lying for a few weeks.
I’m ****ed off with batteries since 2 flattenings due to parasitic drain in my series totally killed a newish optima red top.

Only just logged back in. Just to clarify it was a dead battery. Got the biggest one I could fit in there and its been fine since
