Reading a thread earlier reminded me how long I've had the Disco and prompted me to look at how it's changed. So, first three pics are what I took 2/3 years after I got it .. no changes except the cb aerial/flag! Almost mint other than the bits of mud and cracking (already) window seals and looking almost no different to when I got it with 55k on the clock, FSH for £7k in about 2001ish .. all we could afford!

Last three are today .. bit battered, bruised and much muddier but still strong, solid, mostly together and works well, even better than when I got it to my mind!!

Still got wind-up windows, manual mirrors, well passenger one is electric now 'cos they is cheaper! Lots of minor mods to make it easier to run, reasonably frugal on fuel, stronger on the lanes and to keep it reliable, which it actually is!

I like the way the off side bumper cap looks as though its trek screwed to the body through the reflector.

I must admit they just keep going and going...

How the hell did you dent that steering guard :D , mine is about 10mm thick and I'd hate to think how much effort it will take to dent that.

3 or 4' drop into Tractor ruts .. sent the alarm barmy, horn going, lights on and off, all sorts of issues. Turned engine off, re-started after looking round and finding no actual damage other than the guard, started up and drove off, no problems!

It wouldn't straighten out when I drove over it, in fact it didn't even bend. ;)

Gotta say, in all the years I've been off-roading with that steering guard on, 5+, I've never (yet!) bent or broken a steering arm!!

Never actually measured it, but reckon it's 6mm steel (maybe 8) but welded not bolted together.
