VW transporter. Absolutely brilliant motor. I wish i hadnt sold mine, but if i had then i would be here posting this advice.:confused::confused::p:D

anybody had one.looking at the 2ltr diesel.

was using my disco but need more space for deliveries of tuck boxes..

just cos Oddie has a renault it doesn't mean you should get a peuget.:doh::doh:

Looks like it's time to get yourself a 110:D

I agree with BGB anorl. Did 158,000 miles in my VW in 9 months, never had to put a spanner to it apart from normal servicing

ive got the fiat scudo 1.9 non turbo 02 plate same as the partner, paid £800 and done 10k since march no probs at all ultra reliable.

Before you buy a van price up the costs of a few simple items ie brake discs pads clutch etc.I have used vans for 30 years now and the only van i would recommend is a transit,The one i have at the moment i have had for 10 years now and the only things i replaced was the discs and pads and a new battery and 1 exhust system not bad.

I have just bought a peugeot partner 1.9 n/a van 03 61.500 miles service record £1000
very good and economical vans [ the modern moggy thou :) long living engines 200 thousand easy 50 mpg .
seasons greetings to all

peugeot experts are ok,stay away from renault masters and newish transits as they suffer gearboxes amongst other things

i got a citroen relay 2.5 diesel not a bad van in all fairness bloody good on fuel (to its up for sale aswell) :D:D

I got a y plate swb transit. it got 185k on clock, does me 500 mile to £90 diesel. had do brake pads, discs need doin and had change front subframe. but had it since may done 25k in it with no real probs other than wear and tair due to mileage and age. it not bad old tank, parts are cheap and easy to get and dont forget if going anywhere near lobdon check with tfl it lez compliant

my 56 renault master has one 146,000 miles no probs with gearbox you get loads more for your money than you do with transits etc as all there stuff is optional extras wheras in renault alot more is standard

mine has heated screen,e/m e/w, parking sensors,aircon,cruise control,handsfree,cd player
,front fogs
great motor and it suits my needs perfectly

I disagree. Peugeot expert engines are ok but if the steering lock goes down on em (common fault) yer fecked.

You will never ever ever get 50mpg out of that 1.9 partner crazy kent 43 is the absolute best i ever got at 60 on the motorway with all the tricks all the way to wales from aberdeen it only drops down to 39 if you put the foot flat n the floor though

Also be careful if your alternator regulator goes as it seems to **** with the ecu

Mines idles at 1100 rpm at and it used to be 900 before alternator was changed - apparently a common problem

We have an 08 transit in the house too and its a complete joaner of a thing

Brakes failed , alternator failed , all electrics inside have failed , steering rack failed , eats tires and due to location of the screen wash bottle its perma frozen all winter even with winter screenwash in

Couldnt pay me to have a transit after that - glad its on a lease and is going back in march ( and i dont have to wait on the aa when it dies ....)

I fix transits everyday,,,,Something must be better or the van world is doomed.

If I had to buy a van it would probably be a VW or a Merc.

swiss cheese Clutch's, faulty fuel pumps, faulty fuel pump ecu's, immobiliser issues, egr faults.......... can't see why yer so against transits.:p

Dont even consider an electric Ford connect, got one at work, supposed to take 80 miles charge but wont go past 40. Vauxhall vans are more reliable.

did like the look of the connect but not what i`m after.and after whats been said on forum....deff not.

need a van thats little bigger than connect.also 2 sliding doors.
and of course pritty good on the fuel.around the 50mpg.

not looking at the bigger vans.
