Hi does anyone know where the fuse is to the cigarette lighter. Or could I have another problem. The rear electric windows don't work. So I'm guessing it's a fuse. But nothing has gone in the fuse box. I have a P reg 300 TDI. Any suggestions please.:)

You have two fuse boxes, engine bay & cabin, it cant' be a fuse if you can't find a blown one but it could be a faulty window ecu suffering from dry joints, it's located behind the glove box and there a few threads on this subject if you search..

Also Fixing non functional rear windows

Rear windows are usually intermittant anyway,as per discool above. What have you been running off your lighter socket ? If you have putting much load on it ,maybe fuse or wiring failure, the wiring isnt up to much. Have you any other symptoms (says the doctor) like side lights out? The under bonnet fuses tend to control large circuit groups.I had a vehicle that blew one of the fuses there whenever the front fogs were switched on (water ingress to laght unit) and that caused a whole lot of things to go out.

With vehicles of this age it is always worth thinking about what mods may have been carried out by previous owners.Putting heavier, dedicated wiring to the lighter socket is one that I have done many times. Its fiddly to access through the side of the drivers footwell but can be done by feel.....

Cheers for the comments. Rear windows and lighter socket never worked while Iv'e had the car. No other electrical problems. Swapped rear swiches with front ones and they do work I'll Give the ecu at bit of looking at tomorrow.Doesn't really bother me none of these work. Just could do with cigarette lighter working for phone charger. Who ever is in the rear seat they can always open the sun roof.
I did look for a thread on here only for the lighter never even crossed my mind to look for the rear window switches. lol Thanks discool.
