Looking for a replacement engine for my 200tdi classic has to be a turbo diesel that's capable of towing and cruising at 60 mph with relatively good mpgs , was thinking along the lines of a Mazda Perkins lump but don't see many for sale any interesting engines for sale out there ?? Let me know ! Many thanks smithy

I had a non turbo mazda/perky in a RRC

It was the worst thing I have ever driven.

i can get hold of a cummins 6bta. needs new turbo.

I've heard the non turbos are crap ! And a 6bta would be a nice idea but I've been the work involved in the purple 90 that has one sat under the bonnet I'm hoping for a 6.1 gm diesel v8 !!!

My 200 is just a bit misserable in my rrc , In a series a 200 is a great engine but not in a nearly 2 ton truck with 33's

with 33" tyres you might benefit from a 1.410 or 1.6 ratio transfer box

I think a poked up 300 makes reasonable progress in a disco/rangey and would be the easiest swap

Otherwise yes if you have to burn the devils fuel at least make it a v8

Recently had the pleasure of experiencing a 90 with the BMW 3.0d fitted, wiring nightmare and plumbing not the easiest either apparently but ####ing tremendous to drive I am told!
