this morning i went to the petrol garage pressed the button to open the flap a nothing happened. Anyone have a clue were to start looking please.

please dont pay attention to me. Its fixed now i pulled the bit of trim off from around the switch it was just a bad conection.

You should have an emergency release cord behing the little plastic panel in the rear of the boot as you would see if you read your owners manual

Which is another one of those things on a Rangie that's worth checking BEFORE you need it. The first time I tried mine it just fell off at the flap end. The glue used had dried out and failed sometime in the previous ten years, or it had never been properly connected.
