On my old 110 I had Nato Green satin, and that was very resistant to staining indeed, not to mention scratches. Not sure if different brands/types of paint will have different performance though.
my trailers are in nato green satin and matt black , if its the proper nato paint its bloody hard wearing stuff , oil an grease will come off it easy enough,
the bed of my 90 pickup has about 20 + coats of nato green on it, its had compressors generators, saws and other heavy bulky plant thrown on it most days and is standing up really well,
its down to the prep of the paint job how well it stays on![]()
I think the Nato look suits the Defender, I had a Gaz 66 we did in black and that looked spot on too! Think the square boxy style suits such paints.

Think mine will either be black or green when I get round to it. Hate the farmer blue, even though its in perfect condition!
