I have found of late, the exhaust fumes from my 2.25 diesel have been far more, well burnt smell rather than burnt diesel smell. Could it be burning oil? any resolutions to this?
burt oil or oil smelly fumes, could be no/1 spilled oil when topping up running down onto exaust, no/2 too much oil in the air filter oil bath, no/3 seals on the valve stems gone hard allowing oil into bores and burning off in the exaust, or overfilled engine oil. could all so be spewing oil out of any part of the drive train and throwing it on to exaust, elimination is the way forward,

Yes, its leaking a hell of a lot of oil.

You can sod right off, If I wanted a 200 TDi, id have bought a defender, where that engine belongs. This is a series and a series It will remain

I just love everything about my series. I do 12 - 15,000 miles a year in it.
