Get underneath and measure the width across the outside of your propshaft yokes.
If it's about 93mm, you have the earlier type and need UJ part number RTC3346.
If it's about 87mm, you have the later type and need UJ part number RTC3291.
 
mmmm sounds like this could be my problem aswell..i thought at first it was wheel balancing out but the steering wheel is steady as a rock,the whole landy vibrates badly around 40mph but if you let your foot of the accelerator it dissappears re apply and its back it dissappears altogether at just over 50,could this be my ujs aswell then?..time to get underneath and have a look i spose
 
sounds like a UJ to me again mate, my front prop has one thats worn, pending replacement, that makes the whole cab vibrate, not a lot, but its really noticeable cos it echos round it. Gonna replace it and expaect it to fix it :)
 
is it worth buying the cheap ones....or the gkn ones or heavy duty ones?...i expect them not too last too long as i do a lot of offroading and winch challenges so its the type of part i expect to replace a bit more than expected so what should i plump for?

Definitely go for the GKN (Hardy Spicer) ones - the others are made of cream cheese and will last weeks!
 
funnily enough have spent most of the afternoon doing mine - done the front one now (the tricky job is jus getting the prop off, the rest is relatively straightforward!) - but put the UJ in the small bit of prop, then put the grease nipple in then fix it to the large one else yer'll either have trouble getting the UJ in the yoke or trouble getting the nipple in!
 
orderd up the prop tool to make it easier,took me ages last time to get the nuts off when i had to remove diff,awkward little buggers..ta for the advice always helps when someone else has dunnit first
 
Prop tool should make it easier (but i bet the front cross-member is still in the way when it comes to undoing the rear bolts on the front propshaft!!!) - so long as you got a imperial socket set with a UJ linkage (what i found easiest) you should be OK. - oh and a mole-wrench (but don't tell trewey!!!)
 
best tool i have ever used for prop shaft nuts...

a Snap On 9/16ths deep dish 3/8th drive socket, with an extension bar. Blurry great!

That's what i wa using on mine today (didn't use the extension bar on the back of the front one coz the cross member gets right in the way but it's the ideal combo!!!)
 
ps might have a spare front prop boydy if you still need one - lerrus know and will check tomorra if you do.
 
not sure if i've got it or what nic it's in (if i have, it will deffo need UJs doing) - will have a look tomorra. If any good, it's all yours.
